ABOUT DMT MOBILE TOILETS

DMT MOBILE TOILETS was conceived in 1992 when a young man, ISAAC DUROJAIYE a.k.a OTUNBA GADAFFI mooted the idea of providing mobile toilets to serve outdoor events. DMT MOBILE TOILETS is the pioneer mobile toilet company in Nigeria and at present the only manufacturer in the West African sub-region.

DMT MOBILE TOILETS at inception manufactured wagon toilets locally but in 1999 the company complemented its locally produced wagon toilets with about 30 plastic portable toilets imported from the United Kingdom . However, to fulfill a burning desire to localize production of the plastic toilets, the company acquired necessary technology and know how, to start manufacturing high quality plastic mobile toilets in Nigeria in the year 2002.

FILLING A SERIOUS NEED

DMT MOBILE TOILETS initially focused on renting toilets for Parties, religious activities and other outdoor events. Motivated by the recognition that there are fewer than 500 functional public toilets in Nigeria , and that the vast majority of these toilets are poorly maintained and inadequate. With a population of about one hundred and fifty million people (150,000,000), the company has begun to make inroads into the public toilet arena. The company now provides toilets at bus stops and in densely populated areas in major cities within the country.

We have provided services for major events such as THE 8th ALL AFRICAN GAMES, COJA (For which we provided and managed over 300 Mobile toilets) and COMMONWEALTH HEADS OF GOVERNMENT MEETING, CHOGM , to mention a few.

DMT MOBILE TOILETS , over time has contributed tremendously to a cleaner environment and improved sanitation in major cities in Nigeria . The company has also created a good public health / environmental awareness and now provides an alternative to the current wide spread practice, where people defecate openly around their environment.

DMT FOUNDATION

DETOWES: Descent Toilets for Schools and Women Empowerment Scheme)

As part of our effort to be socially responsible to our community, DMT FOUNDATION was founded to oversee the activities of DETOWES; A Not-For-Profit and a Non-Governmental organisation, our social service arm which provides free toilets for schools in order to promote better hygiene, health and empowering women in the society. This is borne out of our belief that children are more vulnerable to disease if no functional and decent toilets are provided and maintained in schools.

SOCIAL / EMPOWERMENT IMPACT

DMT MOBILE TOILETS has taken a bold step by hiring idle street miscreants popularly known as Area Boys to manage its public toilets. Each toilet typically serves about 100 people a day and the area boys collect N20 per toilet used. They are required to share a portion of their proceeds with DMT MOBILE TOILETS . Through this partnership, some of these area boys not only earn decent salaries, they also gain meaningful work experience and no more constitute nuisance to the society.

DMT MOBILE TOILETS has also been working in some states in the country, through the Ministry of Women affairs and poverty alleviation to help alleviate poverty among majority of women by giving them toilets to man at strategic places by this, some are been empowered.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS

Over the past few months, DMT MOBILE TOILETS has also established strategic partnerships with manufacturers of toilet oriented products. This companies place advertisements on DMT's toilets located at various points. This additional revenue enables DMT MOBILE TOILETS to cover a large percentage of its manufacturing cost, and ultimately better services delivery as we provide more toilets for the public.

THE FUTURE

DMT MOBILE TOILETS is committed to increasing the number of public toilets across Nigeria 's major cities. We are also working diligently to devise creative avenues for recycling the waste collected to generate bio-gas, electricity and fertilizer for farmers making sure no waste is wasted.
